In 1965, artist Roman Opalka started counting, starting at 1, across a large canvas, hoping to reach infinity. On August 6, 2011, Opalka got to the end of his last canvas, reaching a count of 5,607,249. He started in the very-most top left-hand corner and ended in the bottom right corner of each canvas and piece of paper he worked on.
