Look guys, my new Carrion Flower (Stapelia sp.) finally bloomed!

This genus of succulent cactus-like plants, actually related to Milk Weeds, are found in  arid and semi arid habitats throughout Africa. The flowers have the appearance and smell of dead rotting mammal carcass. This floral syndrome attracts attracts flies and other carrion eating insects to act as pollinators.

* This particular plant is probably S. hybrido.
