Have you ever spotted an Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa)?
It is a species to keep an eye on because it is the most aquatic native frog in the Pacific Northwest. Historically, the Oregon spotted frog ranged from the lower Fraser River in British Columbia to the Pit River drainage in northeastern California, but its numbers are dwindling. Aquatic species like the Oregon spotted frog are good indicators of our water quality and wetland health.
